When I First Saw You #10

Woohoo! This is the tenth edition of the amazing link-up created and hosted by Sophie @ Sailing Through Books and co-hosted by Izel @ A Bookish Flower. It is called “When I First Saw You.” I have explained it tons of times, but for everybody that wants to get into it, I’ll be nice and tell you.

“When I First Saw You” is a lovely link-up hosted by the two awesome bloggers linked above. They give you four covers, and you get to choose one. Then, you get to make your own synopsis based on the book.

Sure, you can say that we are literally judging a book by its cover.

My Synopsis

“When the crows caw, the monsters in the woods come out. Beware, there may be nobody to help you…”

Pearce Jones never really thought about attending a camp over the summer. It never came across his mind. Now, he’s failing school because of his stunning Spanish teacher, and because he doesn’t have the time to study anymore. Well, that’s what he thinks.

Pearce’s step-dad takes him to Camp So-And-So, a camp where it seems like nobody cares what happens. The food is nasty, the games stink, and everybody seems like they are falling into a trance with the camp director.

What Pearce doesn’t know is that the camp is secretly haunted. With help from the fellow campers, and maybe that one kid that doesn’t care about anything except for the newest Transformer movie, Pearce will have to uncover the mystery of Camp So-And-So.

The Real Deal

Twenty-five campers. Five cabins.

One very dangerous summer camp.

Cabin 1 must face off against their ultimate rivals, the posh campers across the lake — who may be more than they seem.

Cabin 2 is being stalked by a murderous former camper.

Cabin 3 sets off on a quest to break an age-old curse.

Cabin 4 will meet their soulmates — who also pose a deadly threat.

And Cabin 5…well, it might already be too late for Cabin 5.

This is no ordinary camp. Survival will require courage, cunning, and perhaps even magic.

And the hot dogs are terrible.

Verdict

I love mine, but is it possible that I may be falling for the real thing too?

I honestly love both synopsis’s, mine’s and the real thing. I feel like it is going to be a very interesting read and kind of spooky also with all of the things that are going on around the camp. I can not wait to read this next year.

THAT LAST SENTENCE THOUGH! And the hot dogs are terrible…

What do you think about Mary McCoy’s, Camp So-And-So? Have you ever done “WIFSY?” Have you done it this month? The most important question is.. have you ever had terrible hot dogs? Comment below and let’s chat!

  1. Well, at least you got the food part right, right? Honestly, the official blurb kind of scares me. Yours was a bit more snarky and I prefer that. (Seriously, is bad food an immutable law of summer camp or something?)

    • Yeah! That’s true. It is kind of scary and it feels like something I would probably read over Halloween. I seriously do not know. I have never been to a summer camp before, even though it seems like tons of fun, but I don’t know why the food always has to be bad! I mean, there has to be some good food hidden in the camp somewhere.
